The Conquistadors

Bio:
Referred to as "the great conquerers" by Hardchord Magazine (July/August 1999 issue), this Southern California death-metal trio burst onto the scene with a vengeance in 1994. After gaining the attention of Girth McDürchstein, they were one of the first bands signed to Kelleystein Records.
After recording two albums, their 1995 self-titled debut and 1997 sophomore effort Fogged In, the group moved on to rival indie metal label Mildew Records of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, under the condition that they relocate to Minnesota's Twin Cities. Since then, their relationship with the Southern California scene has been strained at best. Many of their initial fans feel betrayed at the Conquistadors' abandonment, while others — including new fans they've garnered in the Midwest — believe that they've had a creative explosion since signing with Mildew.
One of these fans includes our own President & CEO Girth McDürchstein, who voted the Conquistadors' 2005 album Razing Cain (Mildew) one of the ten best of the year. "The energy and vitality have not dissipated from this group at all," he says.
